ROTC Enrollment and Scholarships
Enrollment
There are three types of enrollment in ROTC:
Participating - Students attending a 100 or 200 level Military Science class are ineligible for benefits from ROTC and are not obligated to serve in the Military. They do not attend Field Training Exercises (FTX) or weekly labs.
Enrolled - Students attending a 100 or 200 level Military Science class and who have completed the ROTC enrollment process can participate in FTX's and labs. They do not receive benefits from ROTC and are not obligated to service in the Military.
Contracted - Students who have signed a contract with ROTC will attend 300 and 400 level Military Science and physical fitness classes. They provide leadership support for FTX's and weekly labs. Upon completion of the program, have a Military obligation.
Scholarships
In ROTC, scholarships fall into two categories:
ROTC Scholarships - ROTC has scholarships for students completing high school and planning for a 4-year college career and graduate students. Current active duty Army soldiers can apply for the Green 2 Gold Scholarship.
Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty(GRFD) Scholarships - Students accepting this scholarship are obligated to a 3-year tour dedicated to the National Guard or 3-year tour dedicated to the Reserve Forces, 2-year tour dedicated to the National Guard or 2-year tour dedicated to the Reserve Force or 2-year tour to either the National Guard or Reserve Force tour.
